The House Nameplate Company Shipping, Delivery & Returns Information

  • Delivery prices:

  • We endeavour to choose the most reliable yet cost efficient delivery method at  all times.

  • - For very small and light, letter-sized products we use Royal Mail and this costs £2.
    - For smaller parcels, such as hanging signs and individual numbers, we also use Royal Mail and these parcls cost £3.
    - Large or delicate items are always sent by our prefered courier - DPD and this has a standard cost of £6.

  • The House Nameplate Company Returns Policy:

    Personalised signs, numbers, letterboxes and pet memorials are bespoke items made to your specification and are therefore non-returnable unless they are damaged in transit or made incorrectly by us (i.e. spelling errors). Please check your delivery as soon as it arrives and report any damages within 2 working days to our helpline: 01978 800 400.


    For all products shown on our website we aim to despatch finished pieces within the time shown for the individual product. If products fail to meet our high quality check procedures then the order may be delayed to be re-made and you will be notified by email or phone.

    Our deliveries are made through our preferred couriers. Unfortunately we have no control over the time a delivery may occur and cannot provide tracking numbers.

    Most of our items (house signs, letterboxes, pet memorials, door furniture, the slate range) are delivered by courier and will be delivered to the given address only. A signature is required on receipt of delivery so please provide an address (home or business) where someone will be present to accept the package.

    We reserve the right to request any subsequent delivery cost if the order is returned to us due to a failed delivery.

    If you know you will not be at home to receive and sign for your delivery you can let us know if you have a safe place where the parcel can be left. This is entirely at your own risk and The House Nameplate Company (or any of its couriers) will not be held responsible for any loss, damage or theft of the package. If you would like to nominate a safe place for the delivery to be left please tell us in the 'special requirements' section of the online order process.

    This may sound obvious, but if you do not currently have a house name or number on your home then our delivery drivers will not be able to find you! Please ensure you are displaying your house name or number somewhere for them to locate you even if it is written on a piece of paper and stuck in your window!

    If the delivery cost is included in the price of the product it will be clearly shown in the description. All non UK orders will be charged according to weight and destination. Where Free Delivery is adverstised on the website this applies to UK mainland only and excludes the highlands, outlying islands and overseas. For these areas postage charges will be calculated accordingly. Please note that The House Nameplate Company does not make any profit on postage, we simply charge you what our couriers charge us.

    Accurate delivery lead times are shown in each individual product listing on this website. In general our delivery times from the date we receive your order in our workshop are as follows, but are subject to change depending on our quality control checks and any queries regarding your order:

    Personalised products may only be returned if the product is faulty or incorrect.

    Non-personalised goods may be returned for any reason. However, it the product is not faulty or incorrect, the customer must pay for the return carriage.
