WARNING DOG POST!
We are a nation of animal lovers, especially dogs and cats, but especially dogs.
I don’t know about you, but I physically cannot walk down a street without saying hello to every single dog that I pass.
Puppies? Oh my! Move out everybody, I will take all your time, and if you’re not careful I will take your puppy…..
For a walk, and a maybe a cuddle or two….
I just can’t help it. My heart melts at their little tails wagging excitedly as they think
‘yay another person loves me’
Yes little doggy, I do!
Ever find yourself talking to them like they are little babies?
But they ARE little babies, little four – legged fur babies with cute little noses with little tiny feet that go ‘pat pat pat‘ as they run towards you and slide across the laminate flooring and face plant the sofa. N'aww.
Even the older dogs, it’s just so cute when they run towards you. And they are so happy to see you all the time.
“Where did you go?, you were gone a whole 20 seconds, I thought you’d left, thank goodness you’re back”

Here at the House Nameplate company we have such a collection of doggy motifs to add to most of our personalised products. So absolutely perfect if you’re struggling to find a gift for a dog loving someone.
Take this for example. The passive aggressive ‘Cold callers, get lost or my dog will chase you.’
Isn’t it cute? Little retriever motif (whole range available), and I reckon it would do a pretty decent job of keeping away unwanted visitors. Grrrr.
Although, it might scare the postman. All the more reason to get a shiny letterbox eh *wink wink*
Nothing says stay away like ‘Beware of the dog.’ It’s a good word isn’t it ‘beware’ sort of gives you a slight chill in the spine doesn’t it. What comes after it doesn’t matter, still has the same effect.
FOR EXAMPLE: Beware of the goldfish, Beware of the…. OK, perhaps not.
I’m going to go on a tangent here, just for a sec…
I was out running the other day, and I ran past this gate that said “Warning German Shepherds roam free in this yard.”
The Gate was closed, locked in fact, no sign of any canine activity. And yet I still found myself moving closer to the road. The sign worked. Job done.
Anyway…. Beware of the dog. Perhaps that should read ‘Beware! tangents likely’
Here at the House Nameplate Company we have some really lovely traditional, brass, beware of the dog signs, perfect to get your point across clearly. We also have an aluminium version which is equally lovely and equally traditional.
But if you want something a bit more modern, perhaps go for a slate sign. This smooth slate sign is sand blasted and hand painted by our skilled craftsmen, and will look beautiful at the end of your garden path.
And of course, there is comical. We have so many different hanging signs to make you laugh.
